5 Top Tips On How Not To Throw Your Weight Loss Success Away On A Bad Day

The weight loss journey is no easy walk, there are going to be good days and bad days, but how do you stop yourself ruining it all on a bad day, when you just want to say sod it? Well in this blog I am going to give you our 5 tops tips to avoid this, and an extra brucy bonus one too 😉

One thing we always get asked is

“How do I cope when I am having a bad day?”

When you are having a bad day it is easy to chuck exercise out the window and eat ALL the food in the house.

Bomb down to Tesco express and just pick up “grab” food and indulge.

Throwing all your progress off because you are in a bad mood.

I get it, I’ve been there and I go there too still.

But how can you make sure you don’t end up doing that.

Just Roll With It

If you want to be in a bad mood, be in a bad mood! often we think that is a bad thing.

No, it’s not! it’s a natural emotion we all have it. We need to have down days so that we can experience the good days.

Ying and Yang and all that jazz.

Personally, someone who is permanently happy and never says they have a down day they are lying

Sure they may have the capability to turn it around quickly but still, we have to have this emotion so don’t be hard on yourself, rather you just accept it than fight it and it takes twice as long to go

Decide on the line

Decide when you will draw the line. Have your down day, but make a pact with yourself that the line will be drawn on X day at X time.

For me, my reset is usually the next day. That then gives me time to just have at it.

I remember when I first was diagnosed with Bi-Polar I decided that I would give myself permission to feel low, I am therefore managing me and not the condition

Get Out

Go for a walk. This always helps me to get out into nature and just breathe in some fresh air.

I watch and listen to nature, look at the birds and hear all the great sounds there are out there.

I even go out in the rain.

Look up at the sky and really understand that ultimately you are just one person on this 7billion planet.

I don’t mean think of others and how worse off they are than you because let’s face it when your in this sort of mood do you care?

Probably not, but just ponder the fact that we are a spec on the edge of a huge galaxy

Talk It Out

Talk to someone.

Let them know how you are feeling.

If you don’t have someone to talk to then journal it down and get everything OUT of your head from going around and around and get it on paper.

It’s better out than in right?

Stay Away

Stay off social media, and watch a movie that makes you smile.

Comparisonitis is going to be RIFE when you are feeling low, stay off of it and instead stick a movie on.

I love a good chick flick or Superhero movie that is my go to.

Something like Elektra, Wonder Woman, 13 going on 30 or something like Mean Girls always cheers me up.

You are going to see happy smiley people and let’s face it no one wants to see that when you are feeling the bottom of the barrel.

The Brucy Bonus!

Don’t give in to the craving. This will only make the situation worse.

Stay away from the sugar and the bread.

Remember that this food is NOT going to solve the problem you have

In fact, it will only make it worse.

So there you go my top 6 tips for helping on down days.

Hope it helps
